Allie Weiss, DAcCHM
Doctor of Acupuncture and Chinese Herbal Medicine, licensed acupuncturist, and board certified practitioner, with an academic background in public health and psychology.
I'm a Doctor of Acupuncture and Chinese Herbal Medicine (DAcCHM), licensed acupuncturist, and board certified practitioner, with an academic background in public health and psychology. I earned my undergraduate degree from Tulane University in New Orleans and completed my doctoral training at Pacific College of Health and Science, studying at both the Chicago and San Diego campuses.
While studying at Tulane, I experienced a period of significant health challenges following mold exposure in my living environment. What began as persistent fatigue was followed by anxiety, digestive symptoms, and intense physical pain. It changed the way I thought about health and healing. The symptoms that were experienced didn't fit neatly into a single category, and I became increasingly curious about the ways our environment, stress, lifestyle, and physiology can influence one another.
That experience became an important part of my path toward integrative medicine and, ultimately, Chinese medicine. I was drawn to a system that looks beyond isolated symptoms and instead asks how seemingly separate pieces may be connected. That perspective continues to shape my practice today, particularly when working with patients who feel depleted, overwhelmed by stress, or frustrated by symptoms that don't seem to have one simple explanation.
Clinically, I'm especially interested in the relationship between emotional health and physical symptoms. My areas of focus include chronic pain, psycho-emotional health, stress-related conditions, digestive concerns, hormonal imbalances, and complex, interconnected symptoms. Each patient is individually assessed and treated using acupuncture, Chinese herbal medicine, Eastern nutrition, and lifestyle guidance. This holistic approach allows me to look at what you're experiencing now and the patterns that may be contributing to it.
With my background in psychology, I have a particular interest in trauma-informed care, nervous system regulation, and the physical manifestations of chronic stress. I'm also especially drawn to auricular acupuncture and the ways Chinese medicine can support emotional wellbeing. My approach is collaborative and grounded in the belief that Eastern and Western perspectives don't have to exist separately. In many cases, looking at health through more than one lens can give us a fuller understanding of what's going on.
I'm originally from the North Shore suburbs of Chicago and moved to San Diego while completing my doctorate. I quickly felt at home along the coast. Outside of the clinic, I love spending time by the ocean, taking long walks, cooking, exploring farmers markets, traveling, and seeing live music. I'm endlessly curious about seasonal produce, wellness, culture, and the small rituals that make daily life feel better.
At Jujube Acupuncture and Herbal Medicine, I want to create a space that feels thoughtful, warm, and deeply individualized. My goal is for you to feel heard, understood, and actively involved in your care—and to experience Chinese medicine not as something separate from modern life, but as a meaningful way to better understand and support your health.
